Ashburton Guest House

We stayed for 6 nights whilst visiting family nearby. Mo & Jimmy are lovely hosts, friendly & welcoming. We had a comfy en-suite room on the ground floor, excellent breakfast, plenty of parking. There’s a pretty garden & terrace with seating, & indoor lounges for guests too. Home from home.

I stayed here Oct 25 as a single person. Moe and Jim were the perfect hosts. Very accommodating and friendly. My friend met me for breakfast and Moe and Jim were more than happy to have him in for breakfast. Breakfast was great, all home cooked. We even got to sample some of Jim’s own honey from his bee hives.

Just had 4 night stay, been therebefore and as usual welcomed by Jim and mo with open arms, can't praise it.enough and Breakfast is excellent Ged Garrick.

A Home Away from Home – 10+ Years of Perfect Stays at Ashburton Guest House We've been staying at Ashburton Guest House on the Wirral for over a decade, and it continues to be our absolute favourite B&B. The owners, Moe and Jim, are simply fabulous — warm, welcoming, and always happy to offer a friendly chat, local tips, or recommendations. At the same time, they fully respect your privacy and understand when you're just looking to relax and unwind. The house itself is charming, with beautiful gardens and several cosy lounge areas perfect for reading a book or enjoying a quiet moment. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and very well-equipped, with thoughtful layouts and tasteful decor that make you feel instantly at ease. Breakfast is a real highlight — a generous and delicious full English made with quality ingredients. If you’re lucky, you might even get to try some of their home-produced honey from the hives in the back garden, which is a lovely touch. The location is ideal, too. It’s just a short walk to several pubs with excellent menus, as well as to Oxton village where you’ll find charming coffee shops and restaurants. There’s also a local bus route nearby that makes getting into Liverpool easy and convenient. But what truly sets Ashburton apart are Moe and Jim. They go above and beyond to make sure every stay is perfect. After all these years, it still feels like coming home every time we visit. Highly recommended — a true gem on the Wirral.

Ideal for visiting the Wirral and Liverpool. Great place to stop over when catching early morning ferries. Fabulous owners and great accommodation and excellent quality breakfast produce cooked to perfection. Stayed a few times and will always be my first choice in the area.

Had an overnight stay here recently, only wish it had been longer, Moe and Jim are the perfect hosts, warm and friendly and make you feel as if you were one of the family, nothing was too much trouble, rooms are very well furnished, spotlessly clean and include everything you would need, added icing on the cake was Jim's amazing breakfast, not for the faint hearted! you will not be disappointed, definitely recommended.

A most friendly and comfortable guest house. The room we were in was excellent for our needs. The full English breakfast was stupendous and satisfied us all day. Other dietary needs were accommodated with no fuss whatsoever. Maureen and Jimmy were excellent hosts. A place we will certainly go back to.

If your looking for a comfortable and homely guest house, you can't go wrong with this place! . Jim and Moe are very friendly and kind, they are very attentive and enjoy a good natter. My room was a single and was very comfortable. Breakfast was always served promptly and both owners were very accommodating. Book your next stay here you won't regret it all! .
